Upgrading:
1)open your old config.php and write down your DB login information and then modify the new config.php with this login info
2)upload/overwrite EVERYTHING,
3) run upgrade.php if you've been using 1.5.5 or 1.5.6 you can skip straight to the last option which is upgrade from 1.5.5 to 1.6 if you're using an older version you will have to follow each of the steps from whichever version you're currently running.

As always log EVERY error displayed! if you mess up on upgrade.php DO NOT RUN IT AGAIN! stop and wait for me to help you.

Great im glad you finally got this out i cant wait to see what it looks like Ill post what i think later tonight. Well had some errors upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6

Ok site works had to chmod 777 all files in cache but get errors in admin when i try to update cache here are the errors.

I'll need you to start a ticket with phpmyadmin access. There were some additional queries that needed to be run after the crash above. looks like I've had 3 people with that exact same error so I'll have to look further into it and update the upgrade file.
